I am known around the area as the Keva Juice Lady... This is not a bad thing, in fact I enjoy it! I like working for Keva Juice which provides a healthy alternatives to all the burger and fast-food joints in the area. I have been working for the UNM location for a little over a year and while the company is awesome, I get the most pleasure from my interaction with all the students. Many costumers have tried my favorites, which are the Leprechaun Lime and the Berry Buzz with blueberries not raspberries!

One of the cool things about my Krew is that it consistes of all students!
There is TeeJay, the assistant, who is going for her Nursing degree.
Michael has been here the longest and is an old pro at making wonderful tasting Smoothies!
Jesse has been here a little over a year also and is going for an Engineering degree.
Bryan is a returning Krew member, who after spending time in China with his theatrical group decided to rejoin our Tribe!
Rachel is our youngest member and still in high school.
Kale is our newest member and going for his MBA degree.

Welcome to Keva #9 located in Wyoming Mall (Wyoming just South of Menaul)!

We like to introduce you to Chris! He just joined the Keva Team this year in March, and loves the life-style change he’s experienced so far. Chris not only loves working for Keva Juice but enjoys all of our healthy products. In fact he has lost over 30lbs just by changing his breakfast to the Liquid Olympian and a wheatgrass shot! In his spare time he enjoys catering, cooking for friends, painting, art, and camping.

We would like to introduce you to AJ! He has lived in Albuquerque all his life and has been with Keva Wyoming for over two years… he LOVES it here! Just recently he became Warrior Chief and is doing an outstanding job. Outside of work he is going to school and is well on his way to becoming a firefighter. In his spare time he enjoys working out and taking care of his Jeep!

This is the rest of the tribe here at Keva Wyoming: Shane, Kayla, Brittney, Juan, Xavier, Lisa, Courtney, and Katherine. Besides Kayla and Shane most of them are fairly new, but are all of us are dedicated to educating and satisfying all of our guests. Customer service is our number #1 priority here and we look forward to seeing you really soon!!

While this question is often met with confused looks and a general sense of puzzlement, we ask it for a reason! Join Us For a Hot Cup of Anitoxidants

We have all been hearing for some time now that antioxidants are a really important and healthy addition to our daily diet. But if you’re like me, though you jump at the opportunity to add any food, beverage or vitamin that claims antioxidant power to your diet, you don’t quite know what all the hype is about. For your benefit (and mine), here’s a brief lesson on why antioxidants are so important.

First, it would probably be important to know why it is that we need antioxidants in the first place. After doing some research, I found that it all starts with the naturally occurring process of oxidation. Here is a quick overview of what that process is and why as a result antioxidants have become so important to us.

"Oxidation is a normal process that takes place in the body. It causes damage to our cells, and it's believed that this cumulative damage is what causes aging and eventually death. It happens as a result of regular metabolism, but is accelerated by pollution, excessive exposure to sunlight, alcohol and smoking. A free radical is a charged atom or a piece of a molecule. In order to re-establish its own stability, a free radical looks to steal an electron from its surroundings. This usually means from one of your own healthy cells. You end up with a little bit of DNA damage, or a protein becomes dysfunctional. It may not seem like much, but all these little damages add up. Antioxidants are chemicals that generously offer up their own electrons to the free radicals, thus sparing you the cellular damage. Every time they neutralize a free radical, the antioxidant loses an electron and stops being able to function as an antioxidant. This is why you must continually resupply your body with the vitamins and other chemicals that act as antioxidants."

Ok, so now that we know how important they are, Where Can We Find Them?

For our discussion today- we will now focus on Tea. The specific kinds of antioxidants found in tea are called phenols, and they can also be found in a variety of berries and grapes. A growing body of research indicates that the tannins in tea are naturally-occurring flavonoids which have strong antioxidant properties. Drinking tea is a natural and pleasant way to increase dietary intake of antioxidants. Researchers indicated that it doesnt' matter if you choose black or green tea and that adding milk to tea, does not inhibit the body's ability to benefit from the antioxidants. Research suggests these phytonutrients may contribute substantially to the promotion of health and the prevention of chronic disease. For example, the antioxidants in tea may inhibit the growth of cancer cells and even support cardiovascular health!

82-year-old John Weisburger, PhD, senior researcher at the Institute for Cancer Prevention in Valhalla, N.Y. has the following to say about including tea as an antioxidant enhancing element into your diet. “Whether it's green or black, tea has about eight to 10 times the polyphenols found in fruits and vegetables. In my lab, we found that green and black tea had identical amounts of polyphenols. We found that both types of tea blocked DNA damage associated with tobacco and other toxic chemicals. In animal studies, tea-drinking rats have less cancer." For comparisons sake look at the world's big tea drinkers, like Japan and China. "They have much less heart disease and don't have certain cancers that we in the Western world suffer," says Weisburger.

So… You should think about heading in to your closest Keva Juice for a Hot Cup of Antioxidants today!

Keva Academy is located on Academy and Wyoming in the Northeast Heights. Keva Academy is a hot spot for students to pick up a healthy after school snack and socialize with friends. Keva Cutler located just off of I-25 and San Mateo, has big stomping grounds being the first store of Keva Juice. Keva Cutler sees multiple regulars whether its for a breakfast quick stop before work, lunch or dinner meal replacements or an after the gym protein smoothie. The krew is full of energy, enthusiasm, and doing whats best to serve our customers daily. Customers are always happy with our customer service and keep coming back. Our service is outstanding and shows in the response from our customers and the smiles we see.

Our krew consists of band members, artists, athletes and students. Sam Dalton gets his chance once a month to display his art on our monthly boards that always receive complements daily from regular and new customers. Keva Juice and its products give our public a great option for a healthier choice. The increase in products I have seen in the last 2 years has invited a lot more customers who are diabetic, lactose intolerant, and resetting their diets for weight loss with the Acai products. Keva Cutler and the krew keeps our environment a blendsational place to be for all ages.

The Scoop: What is IQF Fruit?

At Keva Juice our mission is to always use the freshest, most nutrient rich, flavorful ingredients in our Smoothies. Through much research we decided that for the fruit component of our Smoothies to use both fresh AND IQF Fruit.

IQF stands for Individaully Quick Frozen.

According to the USDA selected fresh fruits and IQF fruits have relatively equivalent nutrient profiles. This conclusion allows that our IQF fruit likely has the same inherent beneficial effects as their fresh counterparts.

The IQF process begins with fruit that is allowed to ripen and reach it’s peak in flavor in the field. It is at this exact point in development that it is frozen. The limited time between when the fruit is picked to when it is ‘Fresh Frozen’ locks in the juicy flavor and nutrients.

IQF Fruit meets our requirements for offering the best quality, flavor and nutrients to our Smoothies.
